DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to live in truth? When Mark Carney addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year\, he challenged the world’s leaders to face the future with clear sight\, to not let the wool be pulled over their eyes any longer about the state of the world. He referenced one of the most powerful political manifestos written in the last century–The Power of the Powerless by Václav Havel. Havel\, a playwright\, became one of Czechoslovakia’s leading dissidents under the “post-totalitarian” rule of its socialist government. In an environment of suppressed speech and secret police\, Havel told the truth about life under dictatorship. He also warned that the West might need to hear his words at some point. Now seems like an opportune time to explore Havel’s work\, seeking in it both political wisdom and spiritual wisdom to help guide us through uncertain times.

SUMMARY:Who We Become When It’s “Just Us”
DESCRIPTION:Some of the most important justice work doesn’t happen in public. It happens in the spaces where we feel safe\, unchallenged\, and certain we’re “the good ones.” In this Social Justice service\, we’ll explore a bracing (and strangely freeing) question: who are we becoming when nobody’s watching? Not as a guilt trip\, and not as a performance—more like honest spiritual training for the moments that shape our character: how we speak when it’s comfortable to be sloppy\, how we respond when feedback stings\, how we notice the systems that keep benefiting us even when we don’t “mean” to. \nTogether we’ll practice the shift from defensiveness to accountability\, from optics to integrity\, from “I’m not like those people” to “What am I willing to change—and what am I willing to risk?” Expect a service that is candid\, compassionate\, and practical: more listening than posturing\, more formation than finger-pointing\, and an invitation to grow a sturdier kind of solidarity—one that shows up in real rooms\, on real Tuesdays\, with real choices.
