SUMMARY:"Rooted in the Earth: Wisdom from the Primal Traditions" by Charis Caldwell\, M.Phil. M.Div.
DESCRIPTION:Before doctrine and dogma\, there were drumbeats\, dreams\, and deep connection to the land. In this opening message\, guest speaker Charis Caldwell invites us to explore the world’s earliest spiritual expressions—what scholar Huston Smith called “primal religion.” These nature-based\, indigenous traditions—pre-dating formal religions—served as humanity’s first guides to living wisely within the natural world. Charis draws from these roots to ask: What does it mean to live in right relationship with the Earth\, each other\, and the unseen? What wisdom have we forgotten—or silenced—that might still whisper guidance today? Join us as we begin a five-month journey through global wisdom traditions in search of timeless insight for unwise times. Expect stories\, soul-searching\, and a renewed appreciation for the spiritual compost that nourishes all later traditions.

SUMMARY:"Letting Go" by Aaron Brown
DESCRIPTION:As this shared chapter of ministry comes to a close\, we gather to reflect on the sacred gifts of presence\, story\, and transformation. In the final service of his 2-year engagement with TRUU\, Aaron Brown will share what he has loved\, what he is carrying forward\, and how he has been changed by the generous gift of this congregation’s witness. We will revisit moments and themes from the journey we’ve traveled together—woven with threads from indigenous teachings\, prophetic visions\, and the deep wisdom of letting go. Join us in honoring a ministry of mutual becoming\, and in blessing the road ahead.

SUMMARY:Congregational Dinner - A Tribute to Aaron Brown
DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited! A Celebration of Aaron and a New Chapter for TRUU \nJoin us for a joyful evening of connection\, gratitude\, and new beginnings! \nWe’ll gather at 5:30 PM on Saturday\, July 26th for a community potluck to celebrate Aaron Brown\, whose steady\, insightful presence and deeply reflective offerings have shaped our TRUU community for the past two years. Aaron has traveled all the way from Salt Lake City twice a month—an act of love and dedication we will never forget. While his regular visits are coming to a close\, this is not goodbye—just a beautiful moment to pause\, reflect\, and surround him with the warmth of our gratitude. \nBring a dish to share if you’re able—but mostly\, just bring yourself. There’s always more than enough to go around at TRUU. \nDuring the evening\, we’ll also launch a hopeful new chapter: our Children’s Program is returning this August for the first time since before COVID! If this sparks joy or aligns with your values\, you’ll have a chance to contribute during a friendly “paddle raise” to help support this long-awaited initiative. And if giving isn’t possible right now\, we understand completely—your presence is the greatest gift. \nWe hope you’ll come celebrate with us!

SUMMARY:"What Remains" by Aaron Brown
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to leave a legacy? Is it what we build\, what we give\, how we’re remembered—or something more mysterious? This Sunday\, we will explore the enduring human longing to live a life that matters\, drawing insight from near-death experiences\, mystical traditions\, and transformative states of consciousness. What might these glimpses beyond the veil have to teach us about what truly endures? What if the most powerful legacy isn’t what we leave behind\, but how deeply we’ve lived? Join us as we venture into the big questions of meaning\, memory\, and the sacred imprint of a single life.

SUMMARY:"Change Is Inevitable; Choosing Love Anyway" by Rev. Zenshin Florence Caplow
DESCRIPTION:As Mary Oliver wrote\, “To live in this world/you must be able/to do three things:/to love what is mortal;/to hold it against your bones knowing/your own life depends on it;/and\, when the time comes to let it/ go/to let it go.” How do we keep our hearts open within the realities of change and mortality? SUMMARY:"A Conservative View of Social Justice: Exploring Common Ground" by Caleb Waller
DESCRIPTION:TRUU is a caring and open-minded community of brave\, curious and compassionate thinkers and doers. We are diverse in faith\, ethnicity\, history and spirituality but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good.    On June 22nd Caleb will offer us an opportunity to practice open-minded listening\, curiosity and understanding by talking with us about his views of what a socially just world would look like and ways in which he thinks we can move closer to making that world a reality. \nCaleb Waller lives in Silt with his wife Kendra and their seven children.  He runs River Nest Resort\, works in the financial industry and is active in local politics as a Republican.  He advocates for policies that he believes strengthen local communities and businesses. Caleb also spent 14 years in Israel\, working on agricultural projects that he hoped would minimize violence between Jewish settlers and Palestinians.   He is a Christian who tries to live in ways he believes Jesus wants him to live.  You can read his columns in the Post-Independent here and here.

SUMMARY:"The Play of Freedom" by Aaron Brown
DESCRIPTION:Continuing this month’s exploration of freedom\, we will further investigate the paradox that the deepest form of liberation may begin not with changing the world around us\, but with finding and aligning with its underlying truths. When we are no longer controlled by attachment—whether to pleasure or ideology\, to success or even suffering—we begin to see that freedom is not something given or taken. It is something remembered. Join us as we consider what becomes possible when we stop clinging and start playing in the great unfolding of life.
