Our popular, public and participatory Solstice Celebration is back, live and in person. This one will be the “upside down” Solstice, where our nightime celebation takes place in the morning, and where the Worship Associate leads the service and the Minister becomes the worship associate.
Come join the Two Rivers Unitarian Universalist as we welcome the return of the light!

Like Solstice Celebrations of the past (before Covid), this one will include these indoor activities:

  • A Pagan ritual honoring the four cardinal directions
  • A children’s story about Saturnalia (where the world is “upside down” Parents are under their Children, Servants are Over their Masters, The Poor Demand Payment from the Rich…)
  • A wreath-and-wishes ritual focusing on welcoming our hopes for the New Year and letting of the old

Outdoor Activities will include:

  • A bonfire
  • A community spiral dance (in which everyone passes by every other member of the community)
  • Burning of the wreath

Our gala will conclude with caroling by our choir (whose cowboy boots may or may not be showing). There will also be cookies and hot chocolate, and good cheer for all.

IN-PERSON SAFETY: TRUU is now back to having live in-person services every Sunday of the month at Third Street Center. Masks are no longer required for attending our in-person events. Please make your decision to wear a mask based on your personal needs and in consideration of the needs of others. All of our services, with the exception of Fellowship Services, will also be streamed online via Facebook and Zoom. The Zoom link is the same each week (information below). Videos of our services will also be posted here on our website, on the Sermon Archive page.

The indoor portion of our Solstice will be available on Zoom and live-streamed to Facebook.
