Social Justice Service on the topic of “Preserving Home”

What does housing justice look like when home itself is under threat? On Sunday, May 31, TRUU’s Social Justice Fellowship will explore the growing crisis of displacement as wealthy investors purchase mobile home parks and put long-standing residents at risk. Centering the voices of neighbors from Cavern Springs Mobile Home Park — including local organizer Judith Alvarez — this service will invite us into the lived reality of people fighting to remain rooted in community and to pursue resident ownership. Together, we will learn about the situation, hear how local residents are responding, and consider meaningful ways to offer support, solidarity, and practical help. Grounded in reflection, connection, and the shared human need for safety and belonging, this service will offer both information and inspiration.
