In 1966, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. addressed hundreds of mostly white Unitarian Universalists. In his speech he said to them, “There is nothing more tragic than to sleep through a revolution.” What did he mean? And what does this mean for us today, in a country where those in power are dismantling rights for so many Americans, rights that were won through decades of courage and sacrifice?
