"Wool and Wolf - The Power of Truth in Tempestuous Times" by Aaron Brown
What does it mean to live in truth? When Mark Carney addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year, he challenged the world's leaders to face the future with clear sight, to not let the wool be pulled over their eyes any longer about the state of the world. He referenced one of the most powerful political manifestos written in the last century--The Power of the Powerless by Václav Havel. Havel, a playwright, became one of Czechoslovakia's leading dissidents under the "post-totalitarian" rule of its socialist government. In an environment of suppressed speech and secret police, Havel told the truth about life under dictatorship. He also warned that the West might need to hear his words at some point. Now seems like an opportune time to explore Havel's work, seeking in it both political wisdom and spiritual wisdom to help guide us through uncertain times.

TRUU Titbits - Notes, Announcements & Nibbles -
I want to begin by sharing sad news from our wider community. We’ve learned that Dick Hart, who was a member of TRUU a few years ago, died on Friday, following a fall and a short time in hospice. At this point, there are no memorial arrangements to share. We hold Dick, and all who loved him, in our care and compassion.
I also want to invite you to read a recent reflection that I shared on my blog: “We Are Eating Each Other Alive.” It’s a piece about what happens when fear, certainty, and outrage take over our public conversations — and what becomes possible when we slow down, listen more carefully, and choose a different way of being with one another. 👉 https://pauldankers.com/we-are-eating-each-other-alive/
If you’d like to follow along as Micha and I prepare for our next chapter, you can also subscribe to my newsletter by scrolling to the very bottom of any page on my website and signing up to receive occasional updates from us as we travel and continue this work.
Finally, a gentle reminder to read all the way through this email — there are many meaningful gatherings and offerings coming up, and the calendar below is full of opportunities to connect.

With gratitude for this community,

Grief can feel isolating, heavy, and deeply personal — yet it’s something many of us carry in common. Navigating Grief Together offers a compassionate, confidential space to gather with others who are experiencing loss, no matter when it occurred. In gentle conversation and shared reflection guided by licensed facilitator Dr. Terry Bordan, we’ll explore ways to cope with grief and loneliness, move toward acceptance, and find connection and hope in community. Open to all. Free of charge.
