"Returning to Ourselves: Recovering Spirit After Stress and Trauma" by Sean Jeung
When stress or trauma knocks us off-center, it can feel like our inner life goes quiet—or goes into overdrive. In this reflection, you explore what “recovery of spirit” can look like after we’ve been overwhelmed: how we begin to reweave a sense of steadiness, meaning, and wholeness. Rather than rushing toward a tidy resolution, the focus is on compassionate realism—honoring what happened, noticing what we carry, and making space for the small steps that support healing. Listeners can expect a gentle, grounded exploration of how we return to ourselves, and how community and care can be part of that return.

TRUU Titbits - Notes, Announcements & Nibbles -
A quick highlight from what’s ahead: our TRUU Potluck & Congregational Dinner is on Saturday, 2/21 at 5:30 PM in the Calaway Room at the Third Street Center. We’d love to gather with you for good food, good company, and a brief community update on the pledge campaign and staffing plans—followed by plenty of time for conversation and connection. Bring a dish if you’re able (and if not, please come anyway).
Micha and I are selling our home and moving into our camper—trading a rooted life for a roaming one. I wrote a bit about the “why” behind that choice here (comments welcome): https://pauldankers.com/a-life-that-can-breathe/ If you’d like to follow along as we hit the road, you can subscribe on that page.

There’s a lot happening in our community right now, so be sure to browse the calendar of events below for more details and additional offerings.

Join us for an evening of good food and good company! Bring a dish to share if you’re able (and if not, please come anyway)—this is about being together.
Alongside the potluck, we’ll offer a brief community update on the pledge campaign and what’s taking shape around staffing plans, then leave plenty of space for conversation, connection, and warmth.

You’re warmly invited to an evening of nourishment and connection with our community. Bring a plant-based, whole-food dish to share (enough for 6–8, if you can), and come as you are—whether you’re a longtime plant-based eater, simply curious, or just looking for good company and a meaningful night out.
After we eat, we’ll settle in for an inspirational film and some optional, gentle conversation. No pressure to speak—just a chance to be together, reflect, and leave feeling a little more grounded.
All are welcome. Bring a friend, and if you’re not able to bring food, please come anyway.
