"Not Knowing is Most Intimate" by Lisa Goddard

Description: We get lost in our thinking, we believe what we think and we think we’re right. In his book Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind, Suzuki Roshi writes, In the beginner’s mind, there are many possibilities, in the expert's mind, there are few. The mind of the beginner is empty, free of the habit of the expert. Ready to accept and open to all the possibilities.

What this May 10th practice is offering is a really simple and very easy to forget. It is very possible that in the middle of our busy lives we can pause and enter the senses, when we can do that...then who knows what’s true?

Bio: Lisa Goddard is the founding teacher of Roaring Fork Insight offers meditation instruction through online group practice, classes and retreats, in-person and in nature in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. She has been practicing meditation since 1997 and has been facilitating these practices since 2002.
Inspired by the teachings of Suzuki Roshi and Ajahn Chah, Lisa received training through Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, Zen Hospice Project, Mindful Schools and the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies. She is a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, trained in Eco-Chaplaincy and is a member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association. Location: The Flood home
4337 County Road 117
Glenwood Springs, CO

Join us for the next gathering of the TRUU Book Club as we discuss Becoming Madame Secretary. We’ll meet at the Flood home for an evening of conversation, connection, and shared curiosity.
The TRUU Book Club is open to longtime readers, occasional readers, and anyone who simply enjoys thoughtful conversation in good company. Even if you have not participated before, you are warmly invited to come, listen, share, and be part of the circle.
Please bring your reflections, questions, favorite passages, or simply your presence. Book clubs are often less about having the “right” interpretation and more about discovering what rises when different hearts and minds meet around the same story.
We hope to see you there.
Also from Nancy Bo Flood:
Nancy will be reading and signing her new book, Badger Clark, Poetry Wrangler, on Saturday, May 9, from noon to 2:00 pm at Barnes & Noble in Glenwood Springs, located at 115 East Meadows Drive in the Meadows Shopping Plaza.
